Boosting the Immune System in Poultry  Before Vaccination with Immunomodulators.

The effectiveness of the avian immune system, which is essential to the health and productivity of poultry, can be affected by a variety of circumstances. Fortunately, research over the past ten years has demonstrated that specific nutritional interventions can have a positive impact on immunological function. Understanding the immune system at a fundamental level is necessary to comprehend such scientific findings and know what inquiries to make in order to receive useful advice on the diet and health of chickens. Protection from disease is provided by immunity, which is “mediated by a collection of molecules, cells, and tissues collectively referred to as the immune system.” Innate and adaptive immune systems, which complement one another in birds and other vertebrates, are able to recognize and defend against pathogens like pathogenic bacteria and viruses.
Poultry vaccines are widely applied to prevent and control contagious poultry diseases. Their use in poultry production is aimed at avoiding or minimizing the emergence of clinical disease at the farm level, thus increasing production.
Vaccines and vaccination programs vary broadly in regard to several local factors (e.g. type of production, local pattern ofdisease, costs, and potential losses)  and are generally managed by the poultry industry. In the last decade, the financial losses caused by the major epidemic diseases of poultry (avian influenza and Newcastle disease) have been enormous for both the commercial and the public sectors. Thus, vaccination should also be applied in the framework of poultry disease eradication programs.

what is the Role of Immunemodulatory?

Before
After
It is important to ensure that the immune system of the birds is in optimal condition. This is where immunomodulators come into play.
Immunomodulators are substances that help regulate and enhance the immune response in poultry. By boosting the immune system, these substances prepare the birds to respond effectively to vaccination, ensuring maximum protection against diseases.
The use of immunomodulators before vaccination has several benefits. Firstly, it helps improve the overall immune status of the birds, making them more resistant to infections. Secondly, it enhances vaccine efficacy by priming the immune system for a stronger and more targeted response. This ultimately leads to improved disease control and reduced mortality rates in poultry flocks.
There are various types of immunomodulators available for poultry, including natural compounds derived from plants or microorganisms, as well as synthetic molecules specifically designed to modulate immune responses. These can be administered orally or through other routes depending on their formulation.

One commonly used immunomodulator in poultry is Vitamin E. It plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system by acting as an antioxidant and reducing oxidative stress. Vitamin E supplementation has been shown to improve antibody response to vaccines, enhance cellular immunity, and increase resistance to various pathogens. When given to poultry before vaccination, vitamin E helps in strengthening the bird’s immune system, allowing it to mount a robust defense against pathogens present in vaccines. This leads to better antibody production and a more effective immune response.

Furthermore, vitamin E also supports the overall health and well-being of poultry. It aids in maintaining healthy skin and feathers, improves reproductive performance, and enhances growth rates.

In conclusion, incorporating vitamin E into the diet of poultry before vaccination with immunomodulators can significantly enhance their immune response and improve vaccine efficacy. It is an important component in ensuring optimal health and disease prevention in poultry farming practices.
